Profection calculator

Your profected sign, lord of the year and monthly profections, from a birth date and a rising sign. Nothing is sent anywhere; the count runs in your browser.

How the count works

The rising sign is the first place. Each birthday moves the year forward one sign, so the profected sign for any age is found by dividing the age by twelve and counting the remainder forward from the Ascendant. The sign's domicile ruler is the lord of the year. From each birthday, the months run through the signs the same way, starting from the year's sign. The full method, and how to read the result, is on the annual profections page.

This calculator needs only the rising sign, which is why it can run without an account. The chart page does the rest — the lord of the year's natal condition, the profections from the lights and the lots, and the transits that count — from a full birth chart.

Questions

What do I need to calculate my profection year?
Your birth date and your rising sign. The rising sign comes from the birth time and place; if you do not know it, casting a chart on this site finds it.
Which sign is my profection in at age 30?
Thirty divided by twelve leaves a remainder of six, so the year is in the seventh sign from your rising sign — the seventh place, the place of marriage and partners. Its ruler is your lord of the year.
Is this calculator free?
Yes, and it runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

Occult Astrology reads a birth chart the way the Greek-language astrologers of antiquity did. Cast a chart and compare it with a Vedic and a modern reading of the same sky.
